The organisers of XTERRA South Africa are excited to announce that Totalsports will replace DUESOUTH as the Title Sponsor of South Africa’s most popular triathlon series.
According to Michael Meyer, Director Stillwater Sport & Entertainment, XTERRA SA is very excited to once again welcome onboard Totalsports as the title sponsor. “The event is now called the Totalsports XTERRA presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT. Totalsports is part of the same sports retail stable as Duesouth, which means we will still continue to see Duesouth at the events. Although Duesouth’s support has been superb, we are thrilled to have Totalsports as the new Title Sponsor as it is sure to bring a freshness and excitement to the event. With many more stores across South Africa, the partnership with Totalsports will increase XTERRA SA’s awareness platform dramatically,” says Meyer.
“The Duesouth XTERRA has been an incredible event platform for Duesouth, with the partnership certainly elevating Duesouth in the mind of our consumer as a go to brand for the outdoor sport enthusiast”, says Fernando Ventura, Marketing Director TFG (The Foschini Group) Sports. “Duesouth has enjoyed this symbiotic relationship for many years, while the event itself, has grown beyond recognition, endearing itself to many multi-sport athletes around the country. The rationale for the title sponsor change to Totalsports is that this sought after XTERRA series will enjoy a far more robust growth with the premium sportswear retailer Totalsports. With 175 stores in key locations nationally, Totalsports will ensure far more coverage for the event, while offering more product support to the multi-sport community. The inaugural XTERRA event actually started out as the Totalsports XTERRA, prior to moving to Duesouth, so the XTERRA series is simply coming back home to Totalsports. We are certain that this new sponsorship move will herald the start of a new and exciting chapter for the Totalsports XTERRA series”.
South African multi-sport legend, Dan Hugo will continue as the ambassador for both Totalsports and Duesouth.
