This past weekend saw the 2nd round of the MTN National Cross Country series happen in Pietermaritzburg. Incredibly fierce racing on the technical course saw Matthys Beukes (Scott) and Mariske Strauss (MTN-Energade) taking the spoils over their more fancied rivals. If the Garmin-adidas riders could keep their cool and their mountain bikes intact on Saturday, 10 April, at the second National Cross-country event in Pietermaritzburg, they should stand a good chance for a complete take-over of the MTN events’ winner’s podium.
