The Xterra guide for dummies
24 Feb 2012, written by Stevo 0 CommentsIt’s Xterra fever in Cape Town (and South Africa) this weekend. The race just seems to grow and grow, and is now split over two days. I’m not sure why the Shongweni Dam leg in KZN never worked, because they probably have the most extensive off-road multisport calendar (maybe that’s the answer!). Totalsports have taken this over from sister store Due South and have the store footprint to leverage it further.

TOTALSPORTS BECOMES THE NEW TITLE SPONSOR OF XTERRA SOUTH AFRICA
24 Nov 2011, written by Rory 0 CommentsThe organisers of XTERRA South Africa are excited to announce that Totalsports will replace DUESOUTH as the Title Sponsor of South Africa’s most popular triathlon series.
According to Michael Meyer, Director Stillwater Sport & Entertainment, XTERRA SA is very excited to once again welcome onboard Totalsports as the title sponsor. “The event is now called the Totalsports XTERRA presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT. Totalsports is part of the same sports retail stable as Duesouth, which means we will still continue to see Duesouth at the events. Although Duesouth’s support has been superb, we are thrilled to have Totalsports as the new Title Sponsor as it is sure to bring a freshness and excitement to the event. With many more stores across South Africa, the partnership with Totalsports will increase XTERRA SA’s awareness platform dramatically,” says Meyer.
Weiss, Paterson win XTERRA World Championship
24 Oct 2011, written by Rory 0 CommentsA new venue served as a fitting place to crown new XTERRA world champions.
The 16th XTERRA World Championship turned into a sweet celebration for Michael Weiss, Lesley Paterson and Kapalua, Maui.
Weiss and Paterson earned their first XTERRA world titles on a new course that was described as both beautiful and brutal. After 15 previous years at Makena, the XTERRA World Championship off-road triathlon moved to the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua this year.
South African Dan Hugo finished a close second, a mere 33 seconds behind Weiss.
