Todd Wells dominates Sea Otter shortcourse

Wells went to the front from the start, immediately pushing the pace and stringing out the international-caliber field. Burry Stander was up there but ultimately finished second.

Jose Hermida and Rudi Van Houts (Multivan Merida 2) claim the win for the final stage in a fast paced race from Oak Valley to Lourensford. Following in second place were Emil Lindgren and Fabian Giger of team Rabobank-Giant Off Road. Christoph Sauser and Burry Stander of team Songo-Specialized by DCM came in third.
Despite the best efforts of the chasing teams, Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm maintain their 11 minute lead in the final stage, to win their 3rd Cape Epic as a team.

29 Mar 2010, written by Rory 0 CommentsThe final day of the taxing 2010 Absa Cape Epic presented by adidas saw riders cover 65km and 1 640m of climbing, cycling from Oak Valley to their final destination at the Lourensford Wine Estate. Multivan Merida’s José Hermida and Rudi van Houts were first to cross the finish line in the final stage of this year’s Absa Cape Epic with the Bulls Team of Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm taking the overall victory.

They were followed by the Swiss/South African duo of Christoph Sauser and Burry Stander (Songo-Specialized by DCM) in a time of 4:40.00,8 with the German Bulls Karl Platt and Stefan Sahm close on their heels in 4:40.00,9.

They completed the tough 27km course in a time of 1:05,15,0 and are now 7 minutes and 6 seconds behind the leaders, having closed the gap for the last three days.
