Andy Schleck took possession of the Tour de France yellow jersey in dramatic fashion Tuesday after an epic day of racing that virtually ended Cadel Evans’s victory hopes. Frenchman Sandy Casar took the stage honours after a thrilling 204km ninth stage from Morzine which included the gruelling 25.5km ascension over the Col de la Madeleine, the fourth and last climb of the race.
Bjarne Riis confirms SunGard to replace Saxo Bank as team sponsor

Team Saxo Bank owner Bjarne Riis confirmed that his team’s future is assured for another two years in a Tour de France press conference on Monday. The team will have two new sponsors, says Riis, one of which he confirmed as US software giant SunGard, the other will be revealed at a later date.

We got what we were hoping for on this stage as the cobbles really lived up to expectations. It was tough, it was difficult, and we saw a reshuffle in a lot of areas. Thor Hushovd won the stage with Fabian Cancellara regaining the yellow jersey.

Tour de France favorite Andy Schleck (Saxo Bank) dodged a bullet Saturday when he crashed while on a training ride. He should make a full recovery and I look forward to watching him challenge for the 2010 Tour de France title.

Robert Gesink claimed a prestigious win on the sixth stage of the Tour of Switzerland Thursday to take command of the race.
The Rabobank climbing specialist attacked late on the third and final climb, crested the summit alone and raced the remaining 10km downhill to finish well ahead of an eight-man group of chasers.

Andy Schleck (Saxo Bank) has endured a horrid off season. He has been hampered by knee problems, struggled with a winter cold and even got hit by a car during a winter training ride.
Despite the setbacks, Schleck vows he’s ready for the Ardennes classics, where he won the biggest race of his career, Liège-Bastogne-Liège last year. This weekend he has his eye on the Amstel Gold Race.

Luxembourg’s Franck Schleck has stated that he wants to continue to race in the same team as his brother Andy who was the 2009 Tour de France runner-up despite doubts over the future of their Saxo Bank team. Frank Schleck, the older brother, finished 5th in last years tour. Saxo Bank decided last month to end their sponsorship deal of the cycling team a year earlier than planned.
