Ian McLeod receives six month doping sanction
07 May 2010, written by Rory 0 CommentsMTN Energade Cycling Team athlete Ian McLeod has received a six month doping sanction for testing positive for a glucocorticosteroid, Deflazacort found in his urine after the South African Championships held on 19 February 2010 in Klerksdorp. The South African Institute of Drug- Free Sport (SAIDS) released the findings and sentence handed down to McLeod during his hearing on 5 May 2010.

Christoff van Heerden denied hat trick at Tour Durban
04 May 2010, written by Rory 0 CommentsDean Edwards (House of Paint) is the rider who prevented Christoff van Heerden (MTN-Energade) from completing his hat trick of victories in the Tour Durban over the past weekend.
After many attacks and counter-attacks the race eventually boiled down to a bunch sprint with Edwards, a former track cyclist, outsprinting Van Heerden to achieve the victory. Van Heerden finished 2nd overall and Jamie Ball (DCM) third.
Jose Hermida wins XC World Cup in Houffaliz
03 May 2010, written by Rory 0 CommentsJose Antonio Hermida (Multivan Merida) won the elite men’s cross country World Cup in Houffalize, Belgium, on Sunday. After winning in 2007, it was Hermida’s second Houffalize win. The Spaniard spent much of the day chasing German Manuel Fumic (Cannondale Factory Racing), who led from the start, but was caught with about one lap to go. The obviously fatigued Fumic was passed by Hermida, who rode strongly until the end.
Darren Lill wins Gila final stage with Leipheimer taking the overall
03 May 2010, written by Rory 0 CommentsDarren Lill (Fly V Australia) won the final stage of the SRAM Tour of the Gila on Sunday, after attacking his breakaway companions 16 miles from the finish and riding alone to finish six seconds ahead of a chase group.
Levi Leipheimer (Mellow Johnny’s) came in a few seconds later, securing his second overall win at the New Mexican stage race.
Mark Cavendish victory salute

Willow was featured as the XX Factor in the June 2009 issue of Outside magazine as well as the September 2009 issue of BIKE magazine.
