I’m not sure why the Shongweni Dam leg in KZN never worked, because they probably have the most extensive off-road multisport calendar (maybe that’s the answer!). Totalsports have taken this over from sister store Due South and have the store footprint to leverage it further.

Bentley Battles Flu Ahead of MTB World Cup
23 Feb 2012, written by Rory 0 CommentsHilton based downhill mountain bike rider Tim Bentley is locked in a race against time to shake off a stubborn ’flu virus that is hampering his training and final preparations for the 2012 RockyRoads UCI MTB World Cup in Pietermaritzburg from 16th to 18th March.
Bentley is a team rider with the Hitchinson United Ride outfit that was founded at the Morewood bike factory and includes MTB downhill icon “Sick Mick” Hannah and his sister, former junior world champion Tracey Hannah, French junior ace Guillaume Cauvin and rider manager Fabien “CousCous” Cousinié.

The Team Cycle Lab rider’s ambitions suffered a serious setback on Wednesday morning when his perennial team-mate Mclean announced that he had not yet recovered from an Achilles tendon injury and would be unable to race.

21 Feb 2012, written by Rory 0 CommentsTo win the MTN Tulbagh mountain bike ultra-marathon (105km) on Saturday (18 February), Burry Stander (Specialized) had to dig deep.
Going into the last few hundred metres Stander and Evans (Nedbank360Life) were racing shoulder to shoulder.
As they approached the line, Evans managed to edge slightly ahead of Stander on the inside and it seemed as if he might just take the victory.
