Lance Armstrong to defend his Leadville 100 title next weekend
07 Aug 2010, written by Rory 0 CommentsLance Armstrong and RadioShack teammate Levi Leipheimer will race in the 2010 Leadville 100 mountain bike race next weekend.
Armstrong is the defending champion having won last years race in a record winning time of 6 hours, 28 minutes, 50 seconds. He finished 28:11 ahead of second placed Dave Wiens. This will be Leipheimer first mountain bike race after sitting out of last years race due to injury.
The 50-mile out and back course is in the midst of the Colorado Rockies. Low point, 9,200 feet; high point is Hope Pass, 12,600 feet. The majority of the course is on forest trails with some mountain roads. Should be a great race between some huge names in international cycling.
