Good day out at Xterra Grabouw

Earlier today top local and international XTERRA Warriors duked it out at the DUESOUTH XTERRA SA Championship presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT. Taking place at the picturesque Grabouw Country Club the participants put on a great show for the crowds of supporters. Although slightly milder conditions than last year, it was still hot and tough.

In the mens race it was reigning champ Dan Hugo that stomped on the field. He won by nearly 5 minutes ahead of Kent Horner and Nico Pfitzenmaier. Race favourite Conrad Stoltz pulled out during the bike leg due to illness.

In the womans race it was Carina Wasle (Austria) who took the spoils ahead of Michelle Lombardi and Carla van Huyssteen.

I took part in the Xterra Lite event and placed 3rd. It really was fun. The full event was a bridge too far for me this year considering my recent injuries.

Full race report and results to follow soon.
