David Millar wins Commonwealth Games TT

Scotland’s David Millar won the gold medal in the men’s 40km time trial road race at the Commonwealth Games earlier today.

Alex Dowsett of England took silver with Australian Luke Durbridge winning the bronze.

The winning margin was just a shade under 55 seconds as Millar, seeded first and therefore last out of the gate, crossed the line in 47 minutes and 18 seconds.

In the ladies race gold went to Canada’s Tara Whitten while New Zealand’s Linda Villumsen took home the silver with England’s Julia Shaw taking the bronze.
