Philip Buys and Brendon Davids set a cracking pace in the Pro-elite category of the Cycling SA-MTB XCO series round 2 that took place at Cascades Mountain Bike Park in Pietermaritzburg today.
Buys (Scott) racing in the elite category and Davids (Jeep-Specialized) in the under-23 class rode hard and fast setting lap times of little over 11-minutes on the course exceeding 4 kilometres per lap.
Cycling SA reports that Pieter Seyffert returned an adverse analytical finding in an in-competition test conducted by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS) on 17 February 2013. Kyle Dodd has returned from the United States and claimed the first and second Legs of the Cycling SA BMX Grand National series.
Racing took place over Easter weekend in Germiston. The BMX commission implemented a new racing format, which was met with great satisfaction from the riders and made for exciting racing over the course of the weekend.

Cycling South Africa is proud to announce the ASG National Invitational road cycling team that will be participating in the inaugural Mzansi Tour, taking place in South Africa from 17 to 21 April 2013.
The five-day five-stage event has a UCI category 2.2 grading and will host South African and international cycling teams.
