Buziba Takes Victory at Final BMX Grand National Rounds – Gauteng
Twenty three year old Godfrey Buziba showed his return to form when he claimed top points at the final 5th and 6th Legs of the BMX SA Grand National series in Gauteng at the weekend.
Having recovered from a slight injury, Buziba took to the track and rode consistent heats to take top honours in the Elite Men category.

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS READY FOR CONTEGO WINES2WHALES MTB RACE AND ADVENTURE
The Contego Wines2Whales MTB Race powered by Maserati celebrates its fourth anniversary in November. Taking place the weekend of 09 – 11 November 2012, teams of two riders (male/female/mixed) will be seen crossing through (and over) 13 wineries, 26 private farms, six mountains, historic roads and mountain passes, nature conservation areas (including the Kogelberg Biosphere) before finishing within sight of the famous whales of Hermanus! The distance covered will vary from 70km to 80km each day.

Swan song for Stander at 2012 Cycle Challenge
This year’s Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge (18 November) will be the end of the first chapter of the cycling career of Cherise Stander (Momentum-Toyota).
From next year Stander, who is a past winner of the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge, will compete virtually only in mountain-bike races. Her goal is to represent South Africa at the 2014 UCI World Marathon Mountain Bike Championship in Pietermaritzburg.

SSWC 2012 – a hazy review
What a weekend. I decided to wait a couple days before writing this post to allow the vague memories to slowly filter back. I will try piece them together to hopefully give you an idea of went down. To put things into perspective, whilst driving from King Shaka airport to Winterton I received a shopping list from mates who had already arrived. There was no food, soft drinks or bike parts, only Cane and Brandy. Good start.

joBerg2c attracts global attention
With the number of international riders having more than doubled for next year’s event, the Old Mutual joBerg2c’s reputation is steadily growing in mountain biking circles across the globe.
The fourth edition of the nine-day stage race, which starts on April 26 next year, will see 300 teams from at least 16 different countries represented on the start line at Heidelberg, just south of Johannesburg.
