RadioShack to ride for Levi Leipheimer
Johan Bruyneel said RadioShack will rally its forces around Levi Leipheimer after Lance Armstrong lost all hope of winning the 2010 Tour de France. Armstrong lost 11:45 after a crash at the base of the Col de la Ramaz knocked him out of contention, but Leipheimer kept RadioShack’s podium options alive after he finished safely with the elite group of 13.

Dan Atherton cracks vertebrae in crash
Dan Atherton is in Shrewsbury hospital after fracturing two vertebrae earlier this week. Atherton had been riding dirt jumps at Llanfyllin, United Kingdom, on Tuesday when he sustained the injury after landing awkwardly on his head in a crash.

Mark Cavendish wins Tour de France stage 5
Mark Cavendish (HTC-Columbia) made a great comeback in stage 5 and showed he still has the speed to win sprints at the Tour de France with a perfectly timed and perfectly executed late charge to the line in Montargis.

Tour de Fance stage 4, Petacchi wins again with Cancellara in yellow
After the manic days of the opening week so far, stage 4′s 153.5km jaunt from Cambrai to Reims would serve as a chance for riders to lick their wounds and take a little rest amongst friends in the peloton. This was aided by an early break which went after two kilometres, when Dmitri Champion (AG2R-La Mondiale) sparked a quintet of riders into action and formed the escape group that was allowed to get away early.

Hunter, Fuglsang exchanged blows in Tour de France stage 3
Garmin-Transitions rider Robert Hunter quickly defended himself Wednesday after awaking to claims he punched Saxo Bank’s Jakob Fuglsang on the third stage of the Tour de France.
L’Equipe newspaper reported that Hunter was seen punching Fuglsang on one of the seven cobblestone sectors on the chaotic third stage.
The report said Hunter “has been known for his temperamental attitude on the bike for years … when is this kind of behavior going to be punished?”

Janse van Rensburg and Venter top the Oyster festival podium
Reinhardt Janse van Rensburg (MTN-Energade) won the Knysna Cycle Race (100km) on Sunday, 4 July.
His team-mate, Jaco Venter, was second and Aran Brown (Medscheme) won the bunch sprint to take the third position.

Tour de France stage 3 – Carnage on the cobbles
We got what we were hoping for on this stage as the cobbles really lived up to expectations. It was tough, it was difficult, and we saw a reshuffle in a lot of areas. Thor Hushovd won the stage with Fabian Cancellara regaining the yellow jersey.
