Four time and currently reigning xterra World Champion, Conrad Stoltz will take part in his very first Duesouth xterra Knysna presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT on Thursday, 07 July 2011.
According to Stoltz this is his first Winter in South Africa since 1992. “I am currently experiencing my very first Winter in the Cape. It is quite a shock, but also very beautiful. Fortunately my early xterra racing season in the USA went so well, with me winning five out of six races, I could take some time out of international racing to visit South Africa.
The Duesouth Xterra Knysna presented by Rehidrat® Sport returns to the majestic PEZULA Private Estate on Thursday, 07 July 2011. This much loved event promises to be an extra special experience for Xterra Warrior, Lieuwe Boonstra, who will be enjoying his final professional Xterra race on home soil.
Former multiple South African mountain bike champion Kevin Evans will return to PEZULA Private Estate’s Field of Dreams on Thursday, 07 July 2011 to defend his title at the DUESOUTH XTERRA Knysna presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT.
Evans caused an upset at the 2010 event when he walked away with the title of individual men’s champion. According to Evans, taking part at XTERRA Knysna fitted in perfectly with his cross training for the World Mountain Bike Championships held later that year.
Crank Cycling News is very fortunate to introduce you to Scott Molina, aka the Terminator, one of the legends of triathlon and member of the sport’s fabled “Big Four” (the other members being Dave Scott, Mark Allen, Scott Tinley).
Scott was one of the pioneers of the sport in the early 1980s, with his 1988 Hawaii Ironman victory being a highlight amongst his 102 professional wins over a fifteen-year career.
The DUESOUTH XTERRA presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT heads to Knysna in July. Taking place on Thursday, 07 July 2011, XTERRA Knysna is the only XTERRA SA event that does not feature a water discipline, but instead follows a run/bike/run format.
Local multi sport hero, Dan Hugo and Austrian XTERRA Warrior, Carina Wasle were the athletes to beat at the DUESOUTH XTERRA SA Championship. Completing the XTERRA Grabouw route in an impressive time of 02hours15minutes30seconds and 02hours41minutes47seconds respectively, Hugo and Wasle both walked off with the coveted title of 2011 DUESOUTH XTERRA SA Champion.
Earlier today top local and international XTERRA Warriors duked it out at the DUESOUTH XTERRA SA Championship presented by REHIDRAT® SPORT. Taking place at the picturesque Grabouw Country Club the participants put on a great show for the crowds of supporters. Although slightly milder conditions than last year, it was still hot and tough.
DUESOUTH has taken its support of outdoor sport one step further by signing a sponsorship agreement with South Africa’s most prominent multi-sport and XTERRA athlete, Dan Hugo.
