Crank attended the UCI African Continental Champs in Jonkershoek on Saturday. The riders were met with stifling hot conditions and a super technical 4km course designed by Chris Nixon. There was some great racing to be seen with Yolande Speedy, Burry Stander and James Reid securing African titles.

The SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport yesterday imposed a three year ban on one of the country’s top cyclists, Michael Dean Pepper, who tested positive for two banned substances.
Pepper was tested at the Amashovashova cycle race in Durban in Oct 2010, where he raced for the House of Paint team.
