International Racers Descend On Wartburg for Start Of UWCT Final
The farming town of Wartburg came alive today (Wednesday) as top road cyclists from every continent converged to try out the 25km course that will decide the new amateur time trial world champion when the UCI World Cycling Tour Final get under way on Thursday.
One hundred and fifty four riders will contest for the coveted UCI time trial rainbow jerseys in seven women’s veteran and master classes and nine men’s age groups, with many of the defending champions having made the trip to South Africa to try and retain their titles.

Ride2Nowhere – This is going to be a treat!
I have always loved the Breede River valley. I have been fortunate enough to paddle in the last seven Breede River canoe marathons and I have always wondered about the mountain biking in the valley. You can now understand my excitement when I heard about the latest MTB stage race in the Western Cape, the Ride2Nowhere. Hill Dash Kick Starts Build Up to UWCT Final
South African ex-pat Jeffrey Kriel, now racing in Australian colours, won the 4Ever Cycles Hill Dash in tough, hot and windy conditions that formally kicked off the week of road cycling that culminates in the UCI World Cycling Tour Final later in the week.

Cycling Paralympians Fine-tune Ahead of London Games
South Africa’s six Paralympic cyclists are feeling confident ahead of the London Paralympic Games, reinforced by their commitment to serious fine-tuning of their preparations.
With the UCI Para-cycling 2012 competition season now complete, the cyclists have continued their training for the Paralympic Games with a dual focus on developing their fitness to peak for London and on technical aspects demanded of the events in which they will compete.

Top names rally to usurp Evans and George as SA champ at MTN Gravel Travel National MTB Ultra Marathon
In a discussion of any particular sport, the debate about who is really the best will always be an important issue. A conversation like this very often turns into a heated discussion.
But as far as mountain biking is concerned, the question of who is the best mountain biker in South Africa, will be answered on 25 August when the best of the best will battle it out during the South African National Championships at the MTN Gravel Travel in and around Wellington.
One of the main challenges for the pro-elite riders will certainly be to bring the domination of Kevin Evans and David George (Nedbank360Life) in the MTN National MTB Series to an end.
