Andre Greipel has confirmed his reputation as the undisputed king of the sprinters at the 2010 Santos Tour Under after another emphatic victory in the Mutual Community Stage 4.
On another day of high winds at the Santos Tour Down Under, Greipel overpowered his sprint rivals to record his third win of the tour and 8th win from the 13 stages he hass started. Once again the peloton controlled the tempo of the race to perfection, never letting the days main break of seven riders to more than three minutes.
The last of those seven riders was caught with 13 kms to race, and despite a last ditch attack by Lance Armstrong and team-mate Tomas Vaitkuswhich at one stage was as much as 23 seconds, about 40 riders managed to contest the finish in Goolwa where the Greipel machine roared into action once more.
He won from Robbie McEwen (KAT) and Graeme Brown (131).
As a consequence, Greipel increases his lead at the top of the General Classification with Robbie McEwen rising to 2nd @20.
